Every individual’s value in the society is determined not by how good he is by himself, but by the extent of his contribution to the society as a whole. And vice versa, we do not evaluate each individual’s degree of evil. We rather estimate the damage he causes to his society (Laitman). The book A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin is broken down into eight different characters’ perspective of the three storylines. The first story follows House Stark as it navigates the treacherous politics of the seven kingdoms of Westeros. Toward the beginning of the book, Viserys plans to sell/force her sister to marry Khal Drogo: “Are you sure that Khal Drogo likes his women this young?”… “I won’t need his whole khalasar,” Viserys said…“Ten thousand, that would be enough” (Martin 33). This quote shows Viserys’ selfishness; he is forcing her sister to marry someone else for the power to regain the kingdom. This reminds me of someone in my old school that is selfish. That person can and will do anything he can to benefit himself and always blames other people. For instance, when other people start to favor someone else, he would spread rumors about that person. He tries to fit into as many groups as he possibly can, but everyone knows his real personality and leaves him alone. These kind of people are monsters (Figurative Language). You can never know what they are thinking, and what they will do next to harm you. They will never have compunction. Viserys is one of those people. Overall, Viserys’ behavior reminded me of someone from my previous school. Ultimately, Jon Snow can be evaluated as intelligent, Daenerys Targaryen’s future might be taking control of her husband’s army, and Viserys Targaryen’s action evokes my memory. To conclude, each individual’s behavior in the society determines how good or bad he/she is in person.
