On a cool day in Salt Lake City Utah, Gary "Green River Killer" Ridgway was born. July 7th 1982 was a day that would start the change of history in forensic science, this was the day waitress Amina Agisheff would leave for work and never be found alive again. This event started a killing spree that stretched potentially 19 grueling years. The very next day Ridgway kills Wendy Coffield a runaway teen. About one month later Debra Estes reported a man in a blue and white pickup truck who offered the girl a lift but then brandished a pistol and forced her to pleasure him sexually. In the same month the bodies of three females are discovered, they are Opal Mills who is 16 years old, Cynthia Hinds who is 17 and Marcia Chapman who is 31 years old. Police start using new DNA process to identify the remains. The case at this point goes cold until 2001 when new DNA testing methods are used. December 2001 Gary Ridgway was formally charged with the murders of four women. December 18th 2001 Gary Ridgway pleads not guilty to four counts of aggravated murder. In November of 2003 prosecutors offer Ridgway a plea deal eliminating the death penalty if he plead guilty to 48 murders.
