Gary Ridgway was born on February 18th, 1949, in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a child, he
grew up in a troubled family and witnessed violent arguments between his parents. At the age of
16, he led another boy his age into the woods and stabbed him in the ribs "just to see what it felt
like to kill someone" as Ridgway described why he did it, fortunately, the boy survived. The first
murder of his was on July 7th, 1982, when a waitress named Amina Agisheff got out of work and
was never seen again. The day after he took Amnina, Ridgway murders a runaway teen named
Wendy Coffield. A month later, Debra Estes reported a man in a blue and white truck offered her
a ride but then flashed out a gun and forced her to pleasure him. Later that month, three female

After the discovery of the women's bodies, the Green River Task Force was
formed to catch the murderer. On May 8th of the following year, Carol Ann Christensen was
found died with a paper bag placed over her head. Later that year, the task force believes that one
man is responsible for the murders of the eleven women who died since the summer of '82.
Ridgeway contacts the task force to offer information, they persuade Ridgway to take a
polygraph test which he somehow passes. At the end of 1984, the suspect count of women
murdered rises up to 42. April of 1987, police search the home and vehicle of Gary Ridgway,
who was last seen with the two most recent victims. Police collect bodily samples from Ridgway
but due to lack of technology at the time, it lacked sufficient evidence to arrest him. In 1991 the

task force only has one investigator and throughout the decade of the killings, they have spent
15.2 million dollars on computer use and sorted through thousands of suspects and facts that
could be able to fill up over 700 binders. In 1999, another victim is found in Kent, a
