Everyone wants to be a winner and everyone wants to be the best at what they do. It is an advertiser’s job convince consumers that by purchasing and using their product they can achieve their goals. In the Gatorade ad, the consumer sees a perspiring, vibrant, blue Gatorade bottle with the its hands in the air, victoriously crossing the finish line. Behind this Gatorade, are two dull water bottles spilling and stumbling into the ground. In the background, is a stadium packed with cheering fans and bright lights. The text on the ad reads “Gatorade always wins.” This ad uses bright color, point of view, and personification of the bottles to catch the consumer’s eye and convince athletes that with Gatorade, they too can be a winner. The colors in the Gatorade ad are vivid. This draws in the viewer’s eye, making them take a second look. The vibrant blue of the Gatorade bottle makes it stand out against the dull water competitors in the background. The burgundy race track is in perfect condition, making it so the audience can almost smell the rubber. The stadium lights in the background are so bright that they create a glare on the ‘lens’ making the audience feel as if they are there watching the race live on television. Athletes aspire to be the best at what they do no matter what sport they play. They look up to those who are better and push to improve themselves so that one day they might perform at the same or even a higher level. The advertisement puts the audience at an angle where they feel like they are literally looking up to the bottle of Gatorade, striving to be the first one to cross the finish line. The water bottles are put in the background to enhance the idea that Gatorade is the best there is. They are a reminder to the consumer that if they want to make it to the top, drinking plain water will not cut
