Despite all humans having their own set of genes, DNA and personality traits it has been proven that making certain life choices can enhance the brains activity. One way in particular is using music to improve your memory by studying while listening to music. Another way is being musically trained which does boost your memory and learning skills in particular your memory in music. Two separate classes of year 11’s students were asked to conduct an experiment to prove that you can remember more if you heard the song over it being spoken you would recall it better with the underlying factor of some students being musically trained while others weren’t.
The focus groups had supplied their raw data, converted it into two tables as you see above. These …show more content…

It is also unreliable because there was only one musically trained student in the spoken focus group differing the results. This is a disadvantage to the result because of a very narrow selection of responses as students are of similar age and the data collected from the spoken focus group participant who was musically trained was not enough to end with an accurate result. The strengths of using these groups to do this research design are that this group of participants are generally well-educated and have access to music on a daily basis. Another advantage is that this group of participants come from a wide variety of backgrounds and this may affect their learning processes. The disadvantage is the limited age gap of only 1 year and this doesn’t give the result of someone whose brain has fully developed. Some improvements that could be made to this research design are using a wider age range with participants that have different types of education and musically training standards. This may differ the
