Returning to the 4th Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT) to assume command as the brigade commander brings me much joy to be reunited with great Non-Commission Officers and Officers that I have previously served with. Unfortunately, this brigade is no longer the brigade I remember when I commanded a battalion within the 4th ABCT not so long ago. In the last 30 days, I have had the opportunity to observe the ABCT and review a multitude of historical documents to assess the state of the brigade. During my observation, I believe the critical leadership problem in the 4th ABCT’s is the lack of vision for the brigade. Therefore, this critical problem has led to other challenging issues within the brigade.

In conclusion, it has been affirmed that the negative consequences outweigh any positives that the military budget cuts could have. The cuts to the military budget will affect military readiness; to confirm these effects, one con, one pro, and a plus one supporting the con were reviewed. The con was a review of cuts to the modernization of the military’s equipment, to include the lack of air power ability for the Marines as well as the continued use of antiquated Abram tanks. The pro was a forced look at some of the wasteful programs within the military, this gave some insight as to what programs should be cut to avoid wasted taxpayer money. Lastly, to further bolster the argument that military budget cuts will indeed affect military readiness more than anything, the pay and entitlement decreases for the Warfighters were reviewed.

The Expeditionary Aerospace Force is expectation to be a visceral change spanning the entire force not just the top end. while United States Air Force has deployed all over the world, it did so at great cost, at an extreme operations tempo and with increasing unrest form its members. The United State Army has primary responsibilities to protect the nation’s citizenry and preserve the sovereignty of the nation. The use of force has predated civilized man and has been used to shape the foundations of society itself. The “profession of arms” has facilitated the rise of the United States as the leading democratic nation in world. The pillars of the Army profession are built on the Warrior Ethos, character, leadership, tactical and technical, conceptual modeling and facilitation of communication (United States Army, 2012, para. 3-23).
In his oration to Governor Isaac I. Stevens Chief Seattle, a Native American leader addresses the governor's request to buy Indian lands and create reservations. Through his oration Seattle boldly presents his stance on the issue of Indian lands, representing his people as a whole. On account for his native people Chief Seattle's stands up for their land through the use of imagery, parallels, and rhetorical questions. Chief Seattle communicates his purpose by using bold imagery that directs the audience to the cause that Seattle is speaking of. He uses metaphors and similes comparing aspects of nature to the issue at hand.
Accordingly, they are the most important things a unit does. The Army must focus on three strategic ends for training the Total Force: training units to be versatile and ready to support combatant commanders worldwide;and holding commanders responsible for the development and execution of progressive, challenging and realistic training guided by the doctrine of mission command. The outcome of these efforts will be more adaptive forces capable of achieving regional alignment or mission tailoring as required. Training for operational adaptability will take place at home station and combat training centers, in Army institutions and while deployed. During this critical transition period, Army leaders must recognize that problems do not have predetermined solutions, so training and leader development must continue to foster creativity at every
