Notwithstanding as to the differences and similarity of the nature of this history, some people have demonstrated sympathy to the weaknesses of this family. The author uses certain features of speech to express the intensity of Jacob’s love and admiration for the beautiful Rachel. He emphasized three times in Genesis 29:18, 20, 30, remarkably, it is unusual given the aloof narrative style of the Bible. And yet, in Genesis 29:3 Jacob’s intense feeling shows the bold effort of lifting the giant rock that was covering the well when he saw Rachel for the first time and by his mindfulness to spend time while working to earn her in marriage Genesis 29:20.
Furthermore, if we look back upon certain events or sequences, the marriage of a man with the
