Cystic Fibrosis is a serious genetic disorder that affects the insides of a human body. Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic condition in which the lungs and the insides of the human body become clogged with thick sticky mucus. The mucus builds up inside of the body and affects the insides like the lungs, liver , pancreas, your sinuses, and more. Cystic Fibrosis also affects the digestive system which makes food harder and a longer time to digest. Some symptoms for cystic fibrosis are salty-tasting skin(sweat), poor growth, and poor weight gain despite normal food intake.People that have or had cystic fibrosis know it is a life you do not want to live. The specific group of people that the disorder affects, is children. There is a frequent amount of children in the U.S that suffer from cystic fibrosis. There are about 200,000 cases a year of people that have cystic fibrosis and more than half of those cases are children. Many children are diagnosed by cystic fibrosis from the minute they are born and sometimes diagnosed when they are growing up. The specific age(s) that children are diagnosed from cystic fibrosis are 0-13. Children are not the only people that can be diagnosed, adults can be diagnosed as well. When an adult has cystic fibrosis it affects a lot on the inside and a lot on the outside. When mucus get’s clogged in the lungs the body reacts faster and the hands enlarge and become cubed form. Clubbing happens faster as an adult because the body is fully functioned. As a result of my essay, cystic fibrosis is a genetic condition in which the lungs and the insides of the human body become clogged with thick sticky mucus.
