In 1984, George Orwell portrays the idea of love in a very unique way that leaves readers very curious. For the people living in the country of Oceania, the idea of love is erased from their lives except for the love for Big Brother. However, Winston finds a way to show love for a girl named Julia. In 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 love is stated as a care free, never failing, and all giving. This small definition shows how love should really be. From understanding the definition of love portrayed in the Bible, Winston’s love is different and almost wrong because his love for Julia is physical, his love for Big Brother is forced, and the idea of love in general is not what one would expect. Winston meets Julia outside of the Ministry of Truth where
