Julia does truly love Winston. Throughout the work of the novel, she is drawn to Winston even though he is around 10-15 years older than she is; this is because she is drawn to his rebellious personality. “It was something in your face. Winston being a single middle aged man who hasn’t truly felt a feeling like this, longs for a special someone to call his own and diverts his attention towards Julia. She is the only thing that matters to him, and Winston desires to spend the rest of his life with her.
