The allegory can relate to another revolution, making it a good allegory. The Cuban Revolution was another situation in which communism was the nation's new way of life. The nation had cut off communications with other countries except for small trade routs. The allegory in Animal Farm does work for this revolution. The Cubans, like the Russians, had little food but had a lot of work being done. The original rulers were overthrown and the leader put themselves higher than all the other citizens. The main part of the Cuban Revolution that related to Animal Farm was food. The Cubans got most of their food from trading but they cut off most of their communications. The Communists still had food for the wealthy and traded with the outside world, unlike the Cubans. Animal Farm states,”It was vitally necessary to conceal this fact from the outside world. Emboldened by the collapse of the windmill, the human beings were inventing fresh lies about Animal Farm. Once again it was being put about that all the animals were dying of famine and disease…” (Animal Farm, George Orwell, 32) Another idea both the Russians and the Cubans have in common is the idea of communism.
