George Washington: The Revolutionary Hero
George Washington, the first President of the United States, once said, “The Constitution is the guide which I never will abandon.” Having said the following, Washington delivered a promise to the people of the United States that he would uphold the truths, rights, and laws stated within the Constitution and put forth the need of the entire country as a whole. George Washington has benefitted modern society by establishing the regulations of the U.S. presidency, leading soldiers in the Revolutionary War to gain freedom from Great Britain, and aiding the United States economy forward through his authority as President.

George Washington was commander-in-chief of the Continental Army, during the American Revolutionary War (History.com Staff). Washington left one of the most enduring legacies of any American in history as he is known as the” Father of His Country” (History.com Staff). All in all, Washington’s hard work, efforts, and accomplishments make him a well-known historical figure as he has impacted the nation with his intelligence, courage, and patriotism.
George Washington was the first president of the United States and in doing so; he established the primary regulations of the U.S presidency. Upon election, George Washington was perceptive about how vital a good example was; therefore, for every action and decision he made, it could be taken into account as a “precedent” for future Presidents (Wilson).

Washington, whom had no military experience, “was made commander of the Virginia militia” during the French and Indian War (History.com Staff). Washington was trusted amongst his commanding officers and it shows how he had various qualities that exhibited good leadership. Washington was put as commander-in-chief in the Revolutionary War and encountering distinct obstacles along the way, Washington’s hard work and efforts prove him “…to be a better general than military strategist” having endured a lack of “food ammunition and other supplies”(History.com Staff). Washington gained much experience from his role as the commander during the French and Indian War. Many hardships were endured, bu8t the most imperative takeaway of George Washington’s job as commander-in-chief was his ability to breakthrough in various circumstances. Nearing the conclusion of the Revolutionary War,”… the Continental forces were able to capture British troops under General Charles Cornwallis (1738-1805) in Yorktown, Virginia. This action effectively ended the Revolutionary War and Washington was declared a national hero” (History.com Staff). Washington’s efforts throughout the course of war showed others of his determination and strength, rendering him a national war
