George Washington changed the whole history of the United States for the citizens and the government, but we'll get into that later. George Washington was born on his family's plantation in Virginia on February 22, 1732. He was the first president of the United States, from 1789 to 1797. He served as a general in the army during American Revolution. Now let's get into the how George Washington completely changed the face of the United States for the rest of us. George Washington had the idea in his head that we shouldn't be controlled but the British government and that we should have our own government and not another one. Because of what he believed in, he was selected to lead the American Revolution against the British to win our freedom.
