Imagine two lives: one is boring with people sitting around all day complaining. Another life is exciting with people laughing and complimenting those around them. Two polar opposites, but both situations re-invent the people involved. Within a person’s life he or she may go through hundreds or even thousands of phases. These phases can also be referred to as re-inventions.
In my research paper I will be talking about Marie Sophie Germain, a famous mathematician born and raised in Paris, France. I chose Sophie Germain because I believe that female historical figures deserve the equal amount of recognition that males receive. She also caught my attention because she had no support at all, and because of that would receive education secretly. I believe that Germain has taught us that even though we will encounter obstacles on our path, with determination and perseverance all things are possible. Although it can be something negative, one always hopes that a person is determined to work and provide in a positive aspect and not a negative one.

Whether it be a Roman gladiator, a foreign ruler, or a philosopher, many just wanted their name to be known for all of time. They believed that they left a legacy if their names went down in history. One of the most painful things is that there are graves of unknown soldiers or unclaimed bodies (Chittister 215).
