The hero known as Gilgamesh was a king of Sumerian city-state of Uruk. He was a ruler around 2700 B.C. Gilgamesh was known as a great warrior and a leader following his death. My question from the writing of “Epic of Gilgamesh” would be, how does death affect one? I believe that death affects everyone negatively, there is always remorse and grief following the death of a loved one, as it was for Gilgasmesh when his best friend Enkidu died. Being so close to someone and knowing that one may never get to see that person again on the Earth is devestaing. One can tell that the death of his friend affected him greatly. His heart is broken, his face does not look of one that is happy, rather than one that is exhausted and heartbroken. Coming from the Tavern-keeper; someone who does not know Gilgamesh nor his personality, shows that he wore all his emotion on his face, in order for a strangert to be able to tell he was going through something. Another way I can tell the death of Enkidu affected Gilgamesh was from him constantly bring up the memories him and his friend shared. Gilgamesh did not even have the strength to bury him. He finally gave in and buried his friend when he dat a maggot drop from his nose. After burying hid friend Gilgamesh relaized that he did not want to be in his friends positon, he never wantedc to be buried, or experience death. He wished to live forever, once he realized that Gilgamesh would then go on a journey that would put his life in
