"I'm the youngest of fifteen, I take that back, second youngest. I have a younger brother that I always forget to mention."
"That's quite a lot," Ginny said, thinking of her ten siblings. She could not imagine adding four more to that mix.
"Yes it is, but I love it. Now I best be leaving you to get ready, the company will be here soon."
"Thank you Caroline. I'm sorry to have needed you."
"It is fine, I prefer talking to you than cleaning chamberrooms,"Caroline said with a smile. Ginny smiled back as Caroline bounded out of the room.
Ginny chuckled to herself as she turned her attention to the rest of her outfit. The dress Mother had picked out was a light blue dress, with the same color petticoat, a small belt across the waist, and lace

Lottie had already dashed downstairs, a wide smile on her face. Blithe, however, was treading much slower. She shot Ginny a fearful look. Ginny sigh, what could they do to escape from the torture that awaited them?
"Oh Virginia!" Ginny heard someone call as she made her way down the stairs. It didn't take much thought to determine that the call came from none other than Miss Maud Jefferson.
Maud was draped in a pile of pale yellow silk. She wore a hoop that made her skirt fan out serveral inches, nearly tripping Ginny. The stomacher was laced with ribbons and the sleeves and hem were trimmed with lace. Her blonde hair was piled up on top of her head in a way that Ginny did not know how it stayed up.
"Good day to you Lady Maud," Ginny said, pulling off a mock curtsey. She knew it was risky, but she could not resist. Thankfully, Maud seemed not to register the mocking.
"Oh did you hear that girls, she called me Lady Maud! Oh I knew I liked this girl!" Maud cried, engulfing Ginny in a massive hug. Her dress alone wa suffocating her. I have to try it on in order to please her."
"Oh, well enjoy yourself," Stephen said, heading off somewhere, most likely to find another book.
When she arrived in her room, she collasped on to her bed. The dress slowly sunk to the floor. Ginny closed her eyes and enjoyed the brief moment of relief that she had been given. She did not want to put the dress on, but it seemed she had no choice in the matter. It was either put the dress on like a good little girl, or not put it on and face the wrath of mother. She had no desire to face the wrath of mother, so she struggled with the dress, trying to figure out how one was even supposed to wear it. When she did get it on, she felt like she was wearing a mound of fabric instead of a dress.
Taking tiny steps, Ginny made her way downstairs, careful not to step on the hem of the dress. She knew if she did, she would go flying down the stairs. That was not the entrance Maud would be expecting. She would be horrified.
"Ginny!" Mother called, as she came around the corner. "Where did you get that?"
"The girls gave it to me as a welcome present."
"Oh they are such dears! You look beautiful Ginny."
"Thank you Mother."
"Now go show your
