The book I choice to read was girl interrupted by Susanna Kaysen written in 1994. This book is basically a memoir about when Susanna Kaysen was send to a psychiatric hospital. Susanna Kaysen is admitted to McLean Hospital, in Belmont, Massachusetts, at the age of 18 after attempting suicide by overdosing on pills. She denies that it was a suicide attempt to a psychiatrist.Susanna is diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, and her stay extends to 18 months rather than the proposed couple of weeks. Some of the patients Polly, Cynthia, Lisa, Lisa Cody, Georgina, and Daisy become her friends she also starts stalking about them and their experiences in the hospital. Susanna suicide attempt and delusions are what caused her to be admitted, although she showed no other signs of being mentally ill, she did have a mental breakdown. Lisa is diagnosed Sociopath it's clear she was misdiagnosed and is most likely Bipolar, but her misdiagnoses led to more mental health issues. It was very interesting how the girls connected with one another considered crazy or not at the end they were there for each other more than society was for the, because they were not considered normal. I like the connection Susanna and Lisa had because they seem to start to be good friends and later on Susanna notice that Lisa in a way was keeping her back and not trying to make her get out of the hospital but in other way stay there with her.
