Questions 1. Globalization is the process through which different parts of our world become more socially, religiously, economically, and politically interconnected due to new business models and advances in technology. Coffee is a great example of a globalized good, as it can be produced more cheaply and with better quality in parts of the world different from our own. Due to advances in transportation and communication, it is relatively easy for coffee companies to have operations in Costa Rica. They can easily communicate back and forth between Costa Rica and their United States-side counterparts to discuss quantities needed and transportation strategies (note: by air, sea, or land). Gentrification is surely a problem not unique to the United States. At it’s root, gentrification is the occurrence of wealth coming into an area in some form which raises property values and the cost of living, which can sometimes result in lower-income individuals being forced out of the area or at the very least being made to feel inferior to the influx of wealth. Solar power utilizes the energy from the rays of the sun to provide electric energy in a safe, clean, and reliable way. One real world application of this energy source is in China, where Apple has built a huge solar farm that collects energy from the sun. This allows 100% of their operations in China to be powered by renewal energy. This has a huge impact on China as new jobs are created from this renewable energy work, the air is made cleaner by not needing more coal/oil-based energy sources, and as Apple stands out as a role model for other companies and government organizations to follow. Surely, as discussed earlier, there are issues with this renewable energy source. But I believe that the issues that exist are nothing that couldn’t be limited by proper regulation and
