Globalization is a social and economic phenomenon that leads to international influence and interactions. As early as the 1500s, the world experienced a huge shift amongst countries and globalization became a trend. The global change was due to a variety of factors that led to the outcomes we experience and are used to today. Globalization affected the development of modern states from 1500 to the present as result of European exploration, the colonization of the Americas, and the expansion of religion.

He learned the art of navigation on voyages in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. Columbus, wanted to make a voyage of sailing west in order to get to the east. He spent years seeking a ruler that would sponsor his trip and finally found one in Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain. In August 1492, Columbus sailed west with his famous ships, Niña, Pinta and Santa María. After ten weeks he sighted an island in the Bahamas but thought he had found islands near Japan. Successful colonization was starting to become inevitable and interest in North America was a global competition among European powers to manipulate and conquer these lands.
European colonization and development of the New World was an invasion of the territory that had been controlled and inhabited for centuries by the Native Americans. Native American groups recognized the Europeans influx as an intrusion, and they carried out a number of different plans to deal with the invasion of their land. They were, however, unsuccessful in the long run, in avoiding conflict with the Europeans and providing a better outcome especially with the impact of European diseases.
Africans played a huge role in the European invasion and colonization of the western hemisphere. From the start, Europeans attempts to establish colonies in the west was dependent on being able to find laborers to do the hard work of building up colonies. The Spanish decided to enslave the Native American in various areas and hold them under their control. The English reached the idea of “indentured servitude” to solve the labor problem. In the end, all European powers turned to African slavery instead to provide labor on their islands and then slavery was assigned and relocated to other colonies in both
