The purpose for the report is, to inform others on how to diagnose diabetes. First we tested the amount of glucose known as Glucose Tolerance Testing (GTT), by placing the strips of glucose test paper on the different times of blood collection after drinking the glucose solution. After that you compare the color of the strip with the color on the Glucose Test Paper Color Chart. Then we tested the amount of insulin in the body, by keeping the same times of blood collection after drinking the glucose solution, but applying 1 drop of insulin indicator on each drop of plasma, then wait 10 seconds, and then compare the color of the fluid with the Insulin Test Indicator Color Chart. The result was high glucose levels for Anna, and Patient B. No insulin …show more content…

Anna's insulin levels were all 0 for each time of blood collection.

Discussion
The results were expected that Anna did have diabetes, since she reports having fatigue, excessive thirst, and glucose was found in her urine. She also has a family history of high cholesterol and heart disease. Now we know she has diabetes, so there is a possibility she fell on the table because of that disease. She was in the hospital, maybe because she had a problem with her diabetes. By looking at the results I can tell that Anna had type 1 diabetes, because she does not produce insulin. The glucose isn't able to enter the cell therefore Anna can't get enough energy.
The blood collection for the Insulin test and the Glucose test should be done at the same time. If you do the Glucose test first for 120 minutes and then do the Insulin test the results won't be accurate. But for Anna that didn’t affect her because she's always going to have 0 insulin.
Further experiments that expand on the work being reported should be testing if she had a heart attack, a stroke, or even check if she had a blood clot that prevented blood from getting into her
