Elementary school, middle school, high school, and then college? We are told to “go to college” by friends, teachers, and family, but is college really worth all that hassle? The answer for every student will be different. Although, students may think that college is not in their future, it is strongly encouraged to think about post secondary school for a minute, because students will have a better income, more job opportunities, and will have a healthier lifestyle ahead of them. Students that think college is not necessary, may feel like it is too much for them to handle. Maybe there is too much involved in college which makes them decide not to go. With a college education people will be able to specialize in jobs with their degree. Those jobs might provide insurance, and paid sick days, vacation days, and good health benefits. Additionally, they will live a longer life. According to College-synonym.com by Niel Kokemuller college graduates live a better life. He states, “ In a 2008 report, the college board indicated that college graduates normally have better pension plans and insurance coverage. Additionally, their overall health is better and their life expectancy is higher. Less likelihood of serious illnesses such as heart disease and cancer are noted by several studies on education and health effects, according to the board, since college grads earn more they contribute more to America’s economy and they are also more likely to volunteer and raise better educated children.” With those paid sick days people can go to the doctor when they start feeling sick because they can get off of work and still get paid. Rather than those that can’t afford to take a day off of work to go to the doctor because they cannot get paid sick days. The insurance will also help because people can go to the doctor without having to pay the full price out of pocket when insurances can pay for some of it. What a super way to live! With awesome benefits just from getting a college education. People will be more active in their community which will make their bodies
