It is said that when we are born, our hands are closed, as if we are holding something, well I believe that we are, and that something is knowledge of who we are and why we are here. Reason why people feel “lost “is because they lack knowledge as the book of Isiah 5: 13 “therefore my people will go into exile for lack of understanding…” (Bible, 2011) this is exactly what is happening, people are so caught up in what the world thinks they are and therefore have lost their purpose. African worldview believes in the proverb that says “ukuzala ukuzelula.” which simply means to give birth is to strengthen your back. What this implies is that having kids helps reduce the amount of work you do alone, in other words people conceive in order to find help from their kids. According to African worldview, purpose of man is to unite in building a community a better and in harmony, it believes in carrying each other’s burdens. For examples, when a couple fails to have children, a couple in the community can either decide to give away one of their children or conceive a baby for that couple with the aim of providing them with “a helper.” I disagree with this because I think it is the main source of child neglect and child labor hence learners fail to concentrate due to extreme chores and causes them to fail at school, I believe children should enjoy their childhood and not be treated as
