Mythologies have a plenty of gods who control the world. According to the Greek Mythology, gods live in Olympus, looking human down there. People expect the gods would be good at everything and have a lot of humanity. However, in the myth of ancient Greek, the gods are just like humans in some aspects. They envy because of love, fight for power, and even betray their spouses. Each of them has personal characteristics, and I want to introduce five of gods and humans in the mythology who are the most interesting characters.

As the god of music, he is popular for playing the lyre, which was invented by Hermes, the messenger of the gods. Apollo proves his excellence in important music contests, competing against Greek god Hermes and the satyr Pan as well as other deities. He is also known as diverse names of god: the Archer with a silver bow, the god of healing, giving the science of medicine to man, the god of light, and the god of truth. One of Apollo’s most important daily tasks is to harness his four-horse chariot to move the Sun across the sky. Apollo is also an oracular god, as he is the prophetic deity in the Oracle of Delphi and the island of Delos. As already mentioned, Apollo is also considered as the god of healing and medicine. At the same time, however, he could bring forth disease and plague with his arrows. According to the myth, Apollo is a handsome, strong and youthful god with impressive golden hair. I wanted to have a research about Apollo because I thought he would give us a lesson. He is famous as the strongest of all mortals, and even stronger than many gods living in Olympus. He contributes a lot to the victory of the Olympians over the giants. He is the last mortal son of Zeus, and the only man whose mother is a mortal called Alcmene and is accpeted as a god before he died. Because he is a son of Zeus, Hera, the jealous wife of Zeus, hates him, so she wants to destroy Heracles in any possible way. Although he is an icon of strength, he is lack of intelligence or wisdom. For example, when the temperature is very high, he pulled his bow out and threatened to shoot in the sun. Because his reaction is so powerful, Heracles frequently gets in trouble. Due to his recklessness, Heracles often has difficulty in ruling himself. However, even though he makes a lot of mistakes, he never forgets them. Many of Heracles’ great achievements occur while doing penance for stupid acts done in anger or carelessness of Heracles. After he expresses his anger, he is the most objective person in making a fair judgement about his action. Because he is too strong for anyone to enforce any punishments on him, he gives harsh punishments himself for justice.
