Humans are social animals. We crave good relationships just like we crave food and air. According to Gallup organization, having friends at work is the impetus for our well-being, and satisfaction. So the question is... Is having a virtuous relationship at work a necessity for a more productive outcome? The answer to that is … YES! We all know that we need to build positive bonds and a sense of belonging at work and the only way we’re going to that is by good and effective communication. {Thesis} Despite the challenges that arise from using English as the lingua franca, it can’t be denied that communicating in that language (English) especially at workplace is beneficial, because it possess special characteristics crucial for dealing with any type of interaction in order to maintain good and positive relationships. English has attained a special status as an international language, and for that its usage is praised and demanded at workplace. The power of the English language comes from its history.
