If the city knows that a certain place were an artist is about to paint a mural at is in a place were taggers like to vandalize they should think ahead of time and relocate to a different place. I believe that they are worth restoring and protecting to an extent that if it keeps getting vandalized it should be just be taken down. The best way to save our city's art work is by painting in locations that can not be reached or in better environments. The city should be responsible for the expenses of restoration and protecting but it is also there decision if they feel the need to take it down for certain
I wanted to not only travel to Paris but also visit London. 6 Those taggers who continue to deface private property will find themselves reimbursing the cost of the damages to the owner, serving twenty-five hours of community service, and paying $100 fine to help pay for graffiti removal. 7 Stress can cause low self-esteem, total frustration, sleep deprivation, nervous breakdowns, or eventually suicide. 8
Christian Thompson’s series Australian Graffiti involves staged images of the artist wearing Australian flora as a headdress. Thompson has arranged the flowers and leaves into intricate headbands that partially or fully cover his eyes from the viewer. ‘I carry the flowers with me like the most quintessential Australian symbol, a return to a more pagan and traditional symbiosis between man and the natural world. Perhaps the flowers are an extension of this visceral response to my surroundings. Sometimes when I am talking with people I visualise clusters of Warratahs or Banksias protruding from their shoulders or coming out of their mouths, it is with that degree that they are present in my everyday life’.
Graffiti played an important part in the voting process in Pompeii and Herculaneum, it was how they “campaigned” and swayed others to vote for whomever they felt was fit to fill the position. In other words, electoral propaganda. The graffiti was present mostly on houses and shop buildings in the main streets where the majority of the populous would see it, therefore increasing the chances for votes in their favour. It wasn’t all political graffiti, though- personal views of the people and daily happenings are documented and include a variety of subjective and objective topics.
This article examines Seacrest High School that had major violent episodes between Asian-American and African-American students. While trying to decide how to deal with the violence and school safety, the other components of the school went by the wayside. All of this was chronicled in the media and an ensuing court order forced the school district to take measures that secured the safety of the students that attended the school. Although not done on purpose, the subsequent result was a neglect of academics and the overall school culture. The focus on safety, created during a chaotic approach to school improvement, led to a loss of focus of content knowledge, critical thinking skills, social-emotional support for students, and moral reasoning.
In his article, “Get tough on taggers”, Joseph F. Licastro argues that graffiti should not go unpunished and should be considered a crime. Licastro supports his argument by suggesting ways on how offenders should pay for the graffiti they do to our community. Some ways she suggested the offenders to pay is by clearing off the graffiti, buying their own equipment with their money, and putting a tracking device on them. His purpose is to make people see that graffiti is just like any other crime in order to have a harder punishment for
Students school environment should be overall safe and supportive. When a parent sends their child to school for eight hours they should feel confident that their child will return safely, and students should feel comfortable to learn and grow. No parent wants a broken heart from a phone call saying their child has been shot. I recommend that enhancing the existing federal policy that gives local school districts the flexibility to use resources to fund student services personnel (including counselors, psychologists, and therapists) as well as appropriate training for teachers to identify mental health problems. In the Parkland, Florida school shooting, the gunman was a student, who had demonstrated serious mental illness and that he had planned out the school shooting as he posted on his YouTube channel.
I think that drug testing is a very important thing, and now society, some people will use the curiosity of young people on the novelty of goods in the drug trade on campus, many people who do not know often eat. To prevent this from happening, every school should carry out drug-related propaganda to enhance students ' awareness of drugs. But the search for students and property, I feel too compulsive, "since the school officials responsible for the well-being of students in their building, they have the right to search for drugs or weapons at any time," this argument is like the students A serious breach of
The speaker is Hecate. I choose this quotation to show the omniscient of Hecate. She utilized human’s weakness and play her “game” on Macbeth. She made confident to arrogant, maximized all evil part from people’s personalities. She is the symbol of dark world.
In today’s society, it seems every time we turn the news on there is another school shooting. From the shooting at Columbine in 1999, to Virginia Tech, Sandy Hook, and the most recent shooting at Umpqua Community College less than a month ago, more than 75 people have died in those four shootings alone. School shootings have become a major issue in the United States in the past few years. The argument over if teachers and principals should be able to conceal and carry weapons is of major controversy amongst politicians, school boards, parents, and the general public. Wouldn’t parents want to know their children are protected while at school by teachers carrying concealed weapons?
Law enforcement presence in schools is a topic that has been spoken about by many researchers throughout the years and has brought up a lot of controversial thoughts and ideas. Many researchers that have conducted research that is related to this topic have mentioned how they came across studies that made them come up with conclusions about school law enforcement officers that were rather mixed than geared towards one side of the spectrum (Bracy, 2010). The studies that I looked into were very similar in that many of them looked down upon the idea of having law enforcement officers present in schools, while a small handful felt that it has more pros than it does cons. Na and Gottfredson (2013), for example, conducted a study in which they
Support: However, it becomes a crime when you put that "art" on someone else's property. “I have a message for the graffiti vandals out there - your freedom of expression ends where my property begins!” said BBC NEWS’ Peter Vallone Support: So we can fix this by trying to be more accepting of people’s art. In the U.S, we are pretty accepting even putting up spaces for people’s art.
Graffiti is vandalism which leads to destruction of an owners home or public building. Things like smashing mailboxes, trashing property that isn 't yours, or breaking windows. Which, costs school, business owners, and more $15 billion ahead from damages of property. Graffiti vandalizes public property and also destroyed it. That is why it 's called vandalism.
Artist Andy Warhol once declared, “Art is anything you can get away with.” Street art has had a rough history with lots of controversy over the topic of being considered an art in the art world. Most people think graffiti is just silly and has little meaning. The style graffiti portrays makes it stick out from the rest of the art styles because it has creative lettering and abstract images that are painted on walls around the globe. Graffiti should be considered art because it has lots of popularity, it has a message, and it is very creative.
In a world where things are always changing and getting better we get to the topic of Osage High School and its change. The school has turned a little outdated with not adding the proper improvements like other school have in the area. Now I am totally for the new renovations of the school to in hopes to get student more comfortable and proud of the school. Overall I feel as if the new additions will improve the school and the students in it.
