Greek gods and goddesses have been around for about a millennia, and much information can still be found about them today. Greek gods are immortal beings that control a certain power that most would think as a normal occurrence. The religion that these gods are worshipped in is called Hellenism, and those who worship are called Hellenic polytheists. There are many gods in this religion. This includes gods of the underworld, nature, and the Olympians. They can also be heroes. This is an essay of an Olympian god. This Greek god is named Poseidon. Poseidon is a very powerful god that has a large family, a messed up childhood as well as a long history, and had many symbols for himself.
The Greek God, Poseidon, had a lot of family through his life. He was the son of Cronus(Kronos) and Rhea. He had six siblings. Poseidon’s brothers were Zeus, Hades, and Chiron, while his sisters were Demeter, Hestia, and Hera. Later, Poseidon was married to Amphitrite and had seven kids: Theseus, Trito, Polyphemus, Belus, Agenor, Neleus, and Atlas. There were at least fifteen members in his family, if not more.

The most famous appearance is one that Poseidon had sea green eyes that changed to a storm grey whenever he was angered. Next along with the eyes, he had a wavy brown beard with a grey mixture in it. Then, he has long blue hair. Many would say he was also imposing. There were many symbols, even including his crown and trident, which represented his power. More of his symbols were dolphins and fish. I would think he’d have more symbols for how famous he is next to Zeus, but maybe I didn't look
