Mythological Greek/Roman Gods and Their Ancient Civilization Ancient Greek/Roman Civilizations took many moral values from their own Mythological stories through Made up Gods. These moral values consisted of loyalty, caring for others, temper control, and more. Through the mythological stories about their ancient Gods, each story could teach them something new about moral values. Ancient Greek/Roman civilizations values of loyalty, caring, and temper control are demonstrated or learned, by their mythological Gods. The first moral value the ancient Greeks/Romans got from their mythological gods and stories is the moral value of Loyalty. Firstly, the wife of the king of Ithaca Penelope, represents this moral value because she is very loyal to her husband Odysseus. For instance,when Penelope awaited for Odysseus's arrival from the Trojan War, there were many suitors that pleaded for her hand in marriage. But because Penelope wasn't certain that Odysseus was dead, she denied all of the one hundred suitors, and after a long 20 years Odysseus finally returned. Firstly, Zeus deeply cares about mistreated lives. When the Greek king Tantalus killed his own son so he can feed his meet to the Gods, Zeus tortured tantalus and brought his son back to life. Here, Zeus cared for this non-deserving punishment of life by not only resurrecting the life, but punishing the wrong doer. Accordingly, The Roman king of gods Jupiter cares about other Gods. For example, when Jupiter's father Saturn ate his first 5 children, Zeus gave his dad a special potion to kill his dad and resurrect all that were eaten. This shows caring because he had to sacrifice his own father to save people. That means he had to care about his brothers enough to resurrect them.
