The greeks’ view of their chief god, Zeus, was primarily deception. Some of the greeks’ liked Zeus and others like Prometheus believed that Zeus was full of evil and wanted to destroy everything in his path. Prometheus then decided to play a trick on Zeus after Zeus had requested the man’s best food as a sacrifice to him. Prometheus thought this would be a perfect time to play a trick on Zeus to try and save the world, Prometheus then arranged a meeting with the other gods to determine which part of the animal they were going sacrifice and then cut up and divide the portions. These two examples show how he could read the situation and react accordingly. Firstly, he saw it was a trick the whole time and saw right through Prometheus and picked the bones with the fat because he knew all along that would be the best option and that Prometheus was trying to make him look like a fool. Secondly, when Gaia started to challenge Zeus to the ten-year battle which is also known as Titanomachy, it showed the true greatness of Zeus and his leadership.
