For centuries civilization has evolved and spread across the globe, causing for many cultures, traditions, and especially religions to develop. Even in ancient societies such as Mesopotamia and ancient Egypt, religion was one of, if not, the most important aspect of an individual 's life. The religions found in Mesopotamia and ancient Egypt would shape how relationships within society functioned, including how communities related themselves to the divine and the role of leaders and priests. Furthermore, these religions would also affect how each of these societies thought about justice and even influenced attitudes toward the afterlife.
Ancient Greece is renowned for its development in architecture and government, and for its surviving advancements in literature. For example, the Iliad and the Odyssey are considered staples in modern literary education. In comparison, the art and architecture, also, revive the understanding of Greek’s achievements, as well as, recount the styles and techniques of the time period. The documents and arts left behind a detailed account of Greek culture, such as the religion and myths. In fact, Homer's Epics were awe-inspiring and profoundly influential at the time of their creation and were highly influential in Greek culture. Additionally, his writings/message spread and helped influence western culture. Lastly, his writings had a massive impact on future writing and literary styles. This is all due to his amazing use of story elements, theme/moral, and figurative language intertwined throughout his writing To begin, Homer's Epics influenced Ancient Greece in a profound way.
Introduction: Ancient Greek society and culture were heavily influenced by religion, which played a significant role in various aspects of their lives. Art, literature, politics, and daily rituals were all shaped by religious beliefs. The Greeks followed a polytheistic belief system centered around a pantheon of gods and goddesses. Temples, sacrifices, and festivals were used to worship and honor these deities. Greek mythology served as a foundation for their literature and art, while religious practices contributed to their moral and ethical framework.
Religion often times is depicted as a specific institution that follows the teaching of the Bible, Torah, or the Quran. People fail to realize that religion can stand as anything for any particular person depending on their values. These values bring about sacred symbols, object, or systems to

Religion has and continues to dictate the rules citizens have to follow in all areas, especially social, educational, and political. Religion influences morals, values, and people’s identities. Many people turn to religion for not just spiritual answers, but for guidance and help in everyday life.
In many ways, Rome adopted its culture—art and architecture, literature, philosophy, music—from Greece. Rome architecture is greatly influenced by Greek architecture. Roman architects continued to follow the principle generated by the classical orders the Greeks had first shaped: Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian but are altered. The Romans used these orders with greater freedom than the Greeks, often using elements from each order and combining them on a single structure. Roman buildings are also made with ashlar masonry, using cut stone blocks placed in horizontal courses like the Greek buildings.
Which is why I believe it is important for schools to study ancient and indigenous religions. The reason being is because we can learn so many things from our past. It doesn't matter whether it is our own religions past or a random stranger’s religions past, we can all benefit as individuals and a society by studying ancient and Indigenous religions. When studying the past we learn how overtime our community has changed and developed for both good and bad reasons. For instance by studying the Ancient Inca religion we know their land was very important and significant to them and how that caused many wars.

To determine which one outweighs the other, philosophers and writers alike have delved into various historical events and speculated what would happen if humanity was stripped of civilization. In his novel Lord of the Flies, Golding conveys the notion that human nature is mainly evil. However, a natural goodness is much more predominant in people as shown by select characters in Golding’s book as well as in To Kill a Mockingbird and the article The Real Lord of the Flies. Through characterization and symbolism, Golding displays the dark side of human nature.

This belief in a higher power was an important part of human progression and expansion. Religion was the backbone of Western civilization and has always been a very important foundation of culture, schooling, philosophy, art, and social interaction. Before Judaism and Christianity, philosophers such as Aristotle ponder the thought of a higher power and in his book Metaphysics wrote about eternal motion was an unmoved mover.
Greek festivals were one unique way the Greeks were impacted by the Gods. Every season in Athens, the citizens would prepare a festival to honor them. The festivals held plays to honor the Pantheon that were either solely humorous or religious, and every two years with the winter and summer Olympic Games to honor Zeus. Each of the festivities of a play, sport, or even singing, had one winner. The winners would be praised because the Greeks were proud to be victorious, especially in sports and contests that had to do with honoring the Gods.
