Heroes, Gods and Monsters of the Greek Myths, a novel by Bernard Evslin, retells short stories of the most famous gods and monsters of Greek Mythology. Evslin creates a simplistic way for the reader to understand more about these myths, through short story telling. Each god and monster is given their own chapter, and are explained thoroughly, but simplistically to help the reader understand these stories better. Evslin’s method of storytelling was effective and the way each story connected made it an easy and enjoyable read. I found it helpful that each piece was told through a maximum of about six pages.
He had seen a woman in a weaving contest with Athena, a boy with wings attached to his body flying a little too close to the sun, and many other interesting adventures. He grew up to look like a young man, even though he was actually way older than that, but he was still as adventurous and curious as he ever was. The Greek Gods, and Goddesses had a weird and different way to live. They had a nice life. The best,and main Gods or Goddesses lived in Mount Olympus. First, it all started with Theogony,and Chaos were they were the first Greek Gods. Later after these two met Chaos became pregnant,and gave birth to Gaea,and Tartarus.
In the inception, the Romans had their own original religion. But after being exposed to foreign culture or countries like Greece, they brought in the Greeks to Rome as slaves,etc. Now, these Greeks become tutors for the children of the Romans. Consequently, these tutors taught the children of Romans the stories and ideas of the Greek gods because they grew up knowing only their Greek gods. As a result, these children also grew up knowing the gods which the Greeces originally worshiped.
Mythology for many years has been seen as folktales and stories that help entertain people. In the modern world the influence of ancient mythology has been very impactful on the entertainment world, as it has allowed for the creation of fictional characters and films that have brightened millions of people's lives. The influence of these stories in ancient times may rival those of the modern world because of their vast influence on the world as it has affected many parts of it. The understanding of these topics is greatly led by the study of mythology which has given insight into human nature , and emotions of people as they often depict human experiences.

When I hear about the Greek Gods and Goddesses, I associate their stories with the modern-day representations of them and really never studied the history behind them. In my Western Civilization class, I read a lot about the foundation of the Orthodox Church and was able to relate to my own upbringing in the Greek Orthodox Church. However, one piece of lacking information that I want to find out about is how the Greek culture of a polytheistic religion eventually became monotheistic. I decided to take a tour of the antiquities of the Gods and Goddesses to search for evidence of their existence as more than a cultural element or if there is any relation to the monotheistic religion that grew out of Greece.
Religion and Mythology in Ancient Greece were looked upon with the highest importance, the Greek myths and tales of religion explained the unexplainable, gave reason to live and a sense of stability to a community. Ancient Greek myths can make the protagonist or other main character a role model in the way that they author writes them. The reader can also obtain life lessons from the myth or legend. A worthy instance of this is the Ancient Greek god Apollo, who is a wealthy king a, affectionate father, a dependable son, the founder of sports and music. Apollo is a good role model for people who grow up reading a myth or myths with Apollo in it.
Greek mythology is a very fascinating subject and it is very interesting to read about the various beasts and how they became one. Greek mythology is full of stories about gods and goddesses and heroes. There have been several Greek mythological creatures whose nature and behavior is captivating to read about. There are so many popular beasts like Centaur, Minotaur and Nemean, the lion. Today, these beasts have become very popular and also people use these names for products and various other marketing needs.
Greek mythology can be viewed as a mirror to the ancient Greek civilization. Ancient Greek myths and legends often reflected how the Greeks saw themselves. From Greek mythology, we can learn about the favorable characteristics of humans, such as their behavior and valuable skills that were approved of by the ancient Greek society.
The myth about Hercules was very inspiring in my opinion. I learned that the people close to you can hurt you in the long run. It also inspired me because Hercules overcame so many obstacles no matter how hard his cousin made them. Even though Hercules did something very bad which was, killing his children. He was punished or doing so which he deserved but he was powerful and faced all the punishments so gracefully.
In the land of Mount olympus where Upoes the god of weather. He is one of the most powerful gods. He controlled everything on earth on how the day is going to look like. Though he gets complaints everyday that the weather is too cold but he never took it seriously, he always thought that the people were protesting for no reason. In that case the leader of the protest gang called Acacius was fed up of the gods.
