The music of the rebellious is called punk rock. It is a genre that is mainly violent, and aggressive music for the younger generation. It started around the 1970s and is still continuing. The music has gotten more popular with the younger kids because they have serious first world problems and it makes them angry so they listen to music that also angry sounding. The music's history and culture is actually not really exciting but should be known. “Punk means many different things to different people. Green Day formed in the year 1986 and performed the first song in 1987. The lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong was very specific about the rules of the band, like how the tours and concerts needed to be back to back because when a band comes back from a little break they seem different. “For thirty years Greg Graffin has fronted the punk rock band Bad Religion, which revolutionized the genre and paved the way for the likes of Green Day”(Beckerman).
