Imagine if your belief and trust in your friends actually meant life or death. Sometimes, we expect friendship to be all fun and games until something serious happens. People take advantage of their friendships, and it can lead to losing a person’s trust. At times, people that we love the most, can be the ones that harm us the most. The Guardians of Ga’Hoole: The Capture, is a story that teaches a valuable lesson that is true for even a modern teen: friendship is one of the most important things a person can learn in their life. In The Guardians of Ga’Hoole: The Capture, the author uses conflict to express the importance of friendship. For example, two owls are taken to a place that they aren’t familiar with, and they don’t know each other or any of the other owls. The owls become friends in a very dark and mysterious place that appears to be inescapable; however, they manage to talk to each other and help each other trying to find ways to escape. The owls keep themselves secure by telling each other stories and telling each other to believe in themselves; how they will escape and where they will go. We learn so much from our friends, and they teach us to believe in ourselves. We learn from the story that Gylfie and Soren are learning to fly; however, their feathers haven’t fully grown out yet. The two owls have to tell each other to believe in themselves and the share mutual trust that will help them escape. I’ve had friends of my own who have gotten me out of some of the most difficult and strenuous situations. My own friends have managed to motivate me to work harder in my classes and to stay out of trouble.
