On February 14, 2018 one of the most recent mass school shooting occurred. Nikolas
Cruz, 19 of Margate Florida shot 17 kids at Marjory Stoneman High School in Parkland,
Florida. Parkland students thought it would just be a normal day filled with love, but it was
much different. A day that was supposed to be filled with love turned for the worst. The fear
students and teachers had will always be remembered, and the devastation will haunt the parents.
Students will forever be traumatized, but they will take over the world.
There are brave and determined students speaking out for safety. They agree that this
cannot be a problem anymore. The government cannot ignore us something must be done. On

The students that chose to hate, got
negativity. You choose the side you wanna be on, but I choose safety for our students, teachers,
and parents. I believe if the government would do something about guns, us kids that live with
fear wouldn’t be scared of going to school. Get the kids that need help, help. We are the future
for our next generation.
We need gun control so a 19 year old boy cannot go buy a gun within an hour, and then
go shoot up a school. If gun control cannot do anything, then we find something that will. Gun
ban and gun control are two completely different things! Gun ban will take away your guns.
Gun control will help put better safety on guns and how people get access to them. If we want
better, students need to speak up when we see something or hear something suspicious.
On February 21, 2018 student representatives and teachers met with President Trump to
discuss school safety and what they would do next as a school. Brave students all over the world
spoke out about their opinions. On February 14th, the day of the shooting a group of students
