January 4th, 2016; former president Barack Obama proposed a new system to reduce gun death rates and to keep firearms out of “the wrong hands”. For some citizens (and to congress), this was an act of triumph and courage. To others, this system as a whole is tampering with and stealing their rights as an American citizen, and from a survey taken by ‘pollingreport.com’ that’s exactly how 52% of U.S citizens feel. Evidently, these proposals have done anything but their purpose. It has fueled riots, and unrest in the nation.
June 11th 2014, an innocent 17-year-old girl went into her driveway as she forgot her phone in her car. Just as she goes to open her car door, 2 masked armed burglars held her at gunpoint while being forced and shoved into the brick wall. The young lady screamed frantically hoping for a miracle. Her Father had heard the screams, “it was the most god awful sound you would ever want to hear; your own daughter scared to death wondering if she will ever wake up again” Said the Father in an interview with FOX news. As he listened to her cry he ran to his bedroom where he had kept his AR-15 fully-automatic assault rifle and ran for his Daughter’s salvation. Just as American citizens have the right to bear arms, they also have the right to protest, petition, make speeches, write letters, and any other way of non-violent action. Some organizations and groups are conducting these right now. If these people come together as one instead of taking no action, believing they will not make a difference, there will be a statement made, and there will be changes.
