HIPAA is a privacy rule that assists in providing protection to health information handled by various entities in the health agencies. HIPAA is implemented at the federal level in order to assist in upholding the integrity to personal information by the health facilities, business associated and research agencies. The Act also gives the patients with a series of rights that is associated with their medication and other health procedures (HHS, 2014). In the rules outlined by HIPAA, there is a coverage of technical and physical safeguards related to all sorts of information. Most of the regulation assist the experts in handling the operation of health informatics.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) include the regulations that limit the health business associated in the use of health information to enhance their business activities (Kastel, 2009).
