The book I am currently reading is called “The House of Hades” by Rick Riordan. It is the fourth book of The Heroes of Olympus series. This book is part of my reading goal. It helps my reading goal because it is one of Rick Riordan books. After this book, there is only one more left until I finish The Heroes of Olympus series.
Pluto is also the god of wealth and harvest because he lived underground and that was were seeds were planted to grow and also where rich minerals were found. Hades known as lord of the dead, had total control over zombies, harpies, Furies, and hellhounds. As most can tell the differences show how the Romans don’t believe that Pluto is all that bad, but Hades is pure evil. Pluto and Hades are the god of the underworld. Both Pluto and Hades are terrible and evil gods according to the cultures and people who believe in them.
And so it came about that the high lord of the Underworld was kept locked up in a closet at Sisyphus's house for many a day, a circumstance which put the great chain of being seriously out of whack. Nobody
Also they all got a kingdom Zeus gained the sky, poseidon inherited the sea, and hades secured the underworld where he would rule for eternity. Hades was often painted with his dog, wife, prong spear, crown or helmet, and heavily bearded with black hair. The cruel hades was not the one who came up with punishments for the guilty and he did not judge the souls of the dead to determine where they shall spend eternity. As cruel as he might seem he was not the one that came up with harsh punishments instead he supervised the dead (hades
One of the strongest mortals was Hercules. Hercules was stronger than most of the gods. Hercules was so strong he was the reason the Olympians won their battle with the Giants. Hercules was said to be Zeus’s last mortal son. Thebes, Greece was where Hercules was born.
Odysseus’s journey to the underworld, better known as “The Odyssey Book XI”, explores archetypal characters such as the hero, the antagonist, and the sage. Our hero in this myth, firstly, is Odysseus. Most of the plotline follows him, because he is the hero. While in the underworld, Odysseus questions his own mortality after meeting the shades of the dead. They tell him about how horrible the afterlife is, and Odysseus begins to have second thoughts about his life as he knows he will, one day, become a forgotten shade.
He decided to take risk and go to the underground world. Dipalus' father told him to go to Zeus first for an advice. While Dipalus went to Zeus in Mt. Everest. Zeus told him that Hades is a devil monster with bloody face and nine legs. Hades was also very strong, and could beat anyone up.
He doesn’t have a throne on Olympus, either. He sort of does his own thing down in the Underworld.’” This justifies the identified theme because Hades lives in the underworld, sealed out from entering Mount
The begging of gods starts with Zeus. Zeus is the god of the heavens and his also known as the ruler of all gods and mortals. Zeus is one of the most important gods because he saved his sibling from his dad and they became the Olympian gods. If he never exists there would be any of Olympian gods. He also establishes law and order, he looks after people wealth and is a father figure to all the gods.
When European settlers first broke land in American, several differences divided them from natives previously inhabiting this "new" land. Back home the Europeans were accustomed to large masses of people inhabiting small areas with well defined borders under a single government. The native Americans however were the exact opposite; they were accustomed to smaller groups of people in large vast areas with socially defined borders. The native Americans were also, for the most part, self governed within their respective tribes. With these stark differences, coupled with the ethnocentric perspective of the Europeans, it is easy to see how conflict quickly exploded into violent incidents.
Modern culture borrows a lot from ancient Greek culture, especially when it comes down to the Underworld. In many modern films and books the heroes have to communicate with the dead in order to advance in their mission, much like Odysseus’s journey into the underworld. Odysseus’s trip to the underworld his Katabasis, begins when he is instructed by Circe to talk to Tiresias in the underworld. “Well, Circe sets us a rather different course… down to the House of Death and the awesome one Persephone, there to consult the ghost of Tiresias, seer of Thebes” (Od. X. 620-622).
Odysseus and Aeneas visit the Underworld at crucial points in each story. They both seek answers and knowledge not available in the mortal world. Odysseus’s and Aeneas’s experiences had many differences, and some similarities as well. Odysseus visits the Underworld after his grueling experience at Troy, and is confronted by his past. Odysseus sees Elpenor, and is hit with the guilt of her body being unburied.
In the book the “House of Hades” by Rick Riordan we see lots of plot lines. These plot lines all help us see the struggles that these characters have to deal with and their motivations, some characters have multiple problems that they are dealing with. Specifically, one character that deals with lots of problems is Frank(son of Mars). One problem that Frank has to deal with is his father who is split between two personalities who are constantly arguing in his head.
This week’s lectures were on the underworlds. I find it interesting how Virgil and Homer had an extremely different view of the underworld off each other. For Homer, he talked about the underworld in the Odyssey with Odysseus as the visitor. Odysseus has no problems going to the underworld he has no issues seen all he had to do was sacrifice a black sheep/ drink blood and is an enlightening experience for Odysseus. He learns about how to go on with the rest of this life thanks to Agamemnon and finds out why Poseidon hates him.
The information processing approach is an approach that observes and analyses the mental process involved in processing information. For the purpose of my Early Cognitive Class at National University, I will discuss in detail how memory is divided into three categories and provide an example of how I was able to store information into my long term memory. To finalize, I will discuss how educators can help student’s process information effectively. First, however, we need to learn how information is processed. Memory is divided into three categories.
