This resulted in the 4 students protesting and sitting at the lunch counter until they were served which turned out to be a little over 5 months. Once other people found out about this many other african americans and even some whites joined. Eventually they had to serve them because it was slowing down their business and they were losing a huge amount of money. The african americans were able to get served and broke some of the segregation laws in other restaurants, stores, etc. Although they ended up getting what they wanted there were some problems that they faced.
To illustrate my point, a key moment of intense racism is when the family is kicked out of the mall by 2 workers who use slurs and start to physically attack them. “Three white boys had been looking at us. “You’re supposed to go now,” one said. “They’re clos-ing the mall.” “We are preparing to go,” said Mother.
One incidence mentioned in the video talks about an eighth grader who was charged with battery for throwing skittles at a classmate. He then spent six days in jail (Prison Kids). This is a very extreme and unfair punishment because if he had not been a racial minority, I do not think that he would have spent any time in jail. You look at cases like this and its truly mind blowing that anyone would view skittles of all things as a dangerous item.

African islands including Madagascar is their natural habitat, and studies demonstrate that is their only home in the world because the geographical location is isolated. There are different kinds of lemurs and some of the most common ones that we know today are: the ring-tailed lemur (Lemur catta) , silky sifaka, mouse lemurs. The scientific name for lemurs is “Lemuroidea”.
