When ghost and goblins, witches and broomstick, candy and costumes are everywhere, it is a sure sing that a favorite holiday is at hand. Falling on the last day of October, Halloween is a fun time for children of all ages. As with any holiday, Halloween has its own traditions. Decorating homes and business, picking out costumes, and trick-or-treating are three favorite Halloween traditions.
Many people enjoy decorating for Halloween. Some people like to decorate their yards with scary Halloween items. For example, many yards have ghosts hanging from trees and spiders falling from doorways. Another way people decorate is inside their homes. Items such as Halloween candles, ceramic pumpkins, wooden ghost, and paper mache bats can be seen inside homes during the month of October. Finally some business decorate for Halloween. Most area malls, for example, have pumpkins, witches and ghosts hanging from the ceilings and above individual store entrances.

The practice of going door to door on Halloween night and being treated to a variety of candies is a favorite of many children.
