When talking about war, there are many books with few answers to what war truly is. Barbara Ehrenreich brings forth not only the possibilities towards understanding war but also the passion people from history have had towards it. One key issue she brings to light is humanities love for war, so much so that people would use excuses like holy wars to justify their need to fight in a war. She declares that war is as muddled as the issue of diseases and where diseases came from around 200 years ago. She walks into an old beautiful building. As she enters the building, she notices how the ceiling seems to be never ending. As she slowly looks down, she notices the multiple floors and many shelves. In the museum of Salvador Dali over at St. Petersburg, Florida, there were several artworks that caught my attention because Dali’s artwork is genuine in many ways. Although I was impressed by all the artworks, there was a particular one that interested me completely. The artwork is the painting titled “Old age, Adolescence, Infancy (The Three Ages)”. This is a 1940, oil on canvas painting with dimensions 19 5/8 in x 25 5/8 in. The subject matter in this work is the three phases of life.

Goffen Sacred and Profane Love “Titian’s Secred and Profane Love and Marriage” is a section of a book by Rona Goffen that is about Titian’s depiction of women and how he treats them in his artwork. Art Historians believed that his artwork was nothing but 16th century pinup models. However Goffen believed that his figures had much more meaning behind them, than being sexual objects for the eyes. The three black balls directly on top, represented her cats, whom she saw as surrogate children and the third symbolised her familial role of the black sheep following her alcoholism. Either side, were her maternal grandparents and paternal grandmother, represented by bears, symbolising strength, as she felt they protected her. The other faces represented her housemate, work colleagues and, as her therapist, she chose for me a yellow smiley face, as she experienced me as her sunshine and positive energy. The top line of the sculpt comprised of people who knew her best and protected her, whilst representing how she would like her family to be.
The negative space is a representation of something missing in her life. The foot warmer and the cupid and traveler figures on the horizontal line are strategically placed in the negative space to represent the man and sex that is currently missing from her life. The cool shades of blue flowing across the image gives lonely, sad tones with the depressed lighting. She expresses her availability by showing skin on her arms as she slightly smiles leaning toward the viewer. She has a soft and supple body which is sexually desirable by a male from her time.
Artwork is a form of self-expression from an artist based on life experience, or on something that the artist feels strongly about (Berenson, 87). The product of art can help others with similar experiences but not able to express the same feeling themselves. From the product of art, people can start drawing excitement, purpose as well as encouragement about the real thing being expressed. Through a piece of art, the artist can communicate a purpose, an emotion or an idea in their work. In this research paper, I compare two pieces of artwork; Madonna and child with the saints by Giovanni Bellini and Madonna and child with the two angels done by Fra Filippo Lippi.
When Europeans discovered the new world, the whole world changed. The new world was named the Americas and it changed greatly when the Europeans discovered it. The Natives that inhabited the Americas were not happy with the new foreigners that had settled in their country. In Plymouth Plantation by William Bradford, the Europeans sailed to the new world and brought many new items that the Native Americans had never seen before. In Coming of Age in the Dawnland by Charles C. Mann, in this story, it talks about the differences between the Europeans and Native Americans, and the differences between the multiple Native American tribes.
The philosopher talks about how we look at the dead body or someone we love. Like they aren 't supposed to be a part of this world, the same goes with beauty, beauty is a visitor from another world. The world of higher spiritual being. It is not to be used or exploited but to be observed and contemplated. Art shouldn’t be be used to satisfy our appetites.
At closer inspection of this art the viewer can see that each of the three people are facing a different direction. They were facing different direction because the artist wanted to capture all angles of Charles I. This oil painting has things like colors to convey a message of peace. With each of these three people having form on them, it conveys a meaning that suggest this painting was done with depth. Space is also used to convey a mood of tranquil.
