Happiness. Out of the eight basic emotions the human body consists of, happiness is the one that can lead you to the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, metaphorically speaking. But, only one in every three Americans aren’t happy and satisfied with their lives (Gregoire 2013). Why? Maybe because they’re looking in the wrong place. Up, down, left or right, whatever direction it may be, it's not the right one Americans are taking to find and secure their happiness. People are seeking the wrong ways to find happiness because studies have shown the differences of happiness between someone who makes 5,000 dollars versus 50,000 dollars is dramatic so money is int the answer, the extrinsic goals that people set because of the status they give does not provide the expected amount of happiness and the fact that people think that drug use can make them become more happy. Happiness is the golden secret to a long life, which is why it’s important to secure it as early as possible.

Psychedelics, such as LSD, cause hallucinations and researchers are pinpointing these drugs as the ones that can improve happiness. “Researchers have tested the drug as a treatment for depression, addiction and other mental problems such as obsessive-compulsive disorder. Remarkably, in each small trial, scientists saw incredible results.” (Miller 2016). The results weren’t short term, like with what you see in other drugs, but in fact lasted a long period of time. Although what’s failed to be mentioned, is that the drug was only used medically and only pertains to hallucinogens (psychedelics).
