In the first battle that Beowulf participates in is against Grendel. Grendel is a repugnant creature that takes advantage of the weak and vulnerable. This creature can be compared to so many things in today’s society but, the most recent thing that can be related to him and one of the most talked about topics on the news would be sexual harassment. When reading Beowulf, and reading about Grendel the story talks about how he only attacks at night when all the worriers are asleep and don’t have the opportunity to hold their own. More and more people, mostly females, are starting to come forward about what creatures we call humans do to them. Sexual harassment can be considered a sexual advancement weather it be verbal or nonverbal. One of the most talked about sexual harassment cases at the moment is the one with Larry Nassar. This creature prayed on the trust and the weaknesses of the olympic females for over many years. In the past couple of months many strong females such as McKayla Maroney, Jade Capua, and Rachael Denhollander. “Larry is the most dangerous type of abuser. One who is capable of manipulating his victims through coldly calculated grooming methodologies, presenting the most wholesome and caring external persona as a deliberate means to ensure a steady stream of young children to assault.”(Correa, Louttit 2018) Rachael Denhollander. Over 160 strong, independent women have come forth and reported what Nassar had done to them. Some having the harassment start as young as 13. One of the women that experienced this terrible act of misuse of someone's trust is Arianna Guerrero. Arianna made a comment when she came forward and said, “You seem to have a hard time looking at me now, but you didn’t when I was half-naked on your table.
