Frederick Douglass once said “Once you learn to read, you will be forever free.” In society today there are discussions surrounding reading in the current generation. So do you believe that reading helps the mind with anything? Do you think that reading a hard cover book does the same effect as watching a movie? Or maybe is reading really that important? Well, hm. See I guess that’s something you’ll have to keep reading to find out. How do you perceive reading? Well, I don’t know about you, but I think reading can be a tad bit boring. If you do see me reading though, it has to involve something with fascination with excited, suspense, or even about love. One thing I do know about what’s happening to our reading is that people around the world is not reading as much as they should. Mainly because movies being made about the famous books instead. Also we are just getting plain lazy and distracted about what’s going on around us. Additional to that concept, society can lose majority of things if people read less. For example, you’re working in a factory where Chevy’s are assembled. Before you begin to assemble the pieces, your boss wants you to read the instruction manual first. Reason being is that social media is being more of attention to us and grasping every petite time that we have to read or even able to do anything. For instant, your reading a wonderful book that has your undivided attention. Out of know your phone rings with a notification from Facebook, Instagram, or even Twitter. An of course we have to check it to see who post a new picture and who commented on your status. So one thing leads to another and when you finally realize is that it’s time to go to bed.
