Characteristics of Hero Myth Some people have different ideas about hero myth stories because they usually involved distinct perspectives of the hero. Harry Potter is a story about a young boy who is immune to the truth of his life. He is living an unhappy life with his guardians-the Dursleys. Little by Little Harry Potter will unfold the truth with the help of friends he'll meet along the way. In the Series, Harry Potter begins as a non-hero, moves into a special world where he is faced with challenges, and receives help.
To begin with, Harry Potter starts of as a non-hero living in a mundane world. We get a peek into Harry Potter's life. Harry Potter lives with the Dursleys, the most boring, plane, and simple family there is. Harry Potter lives unhappily with the Dursleys, for he is treated poorly. Harry Potter sleeps in their staircase covered in dust, barely gets fed, lacks simple human needs like clothing etc. In the series Harry Potter is exiled, the Dursleys tried to avoid him. The Dursleys are in fact aware of Harry Potter and his magical abilities and try everything in their power to keep the truth away from him. In the series Harry is sent a whole bunch of letter from Hogwarts headmaster- Albus Dumbledore. However, the Dursleys do everything they can to make sure Harry doesn’t get a hold of a letter, because hundreds and thousands of letters were sent. Fortunately, after a series of obstacles character Hagrid comes to rescue Harry from the Dursleys. From there Hagrid guides him to Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry.
