The United States of America does not live up to its standards if they do not help others in need. According to the National Archives, “Over the next four years, Congress appropriated $13.3 billion for European recovery. This aid provided much needed capital and materials that enabled Europeans to rebuild the continent’s economy” (National Archives). After the war, Congress’s money helped Europe recover, putting them back in a stable position. Clearly, Harry S. Truman's decisive leadership can be seen through his advocacy and successful implementation of the Marshall Plan.
