For my final research paper, I chose question number 1. It states people continue to debate whether President Truman’s decision to drop atomic bombs on Japan was the best way to end World War II. Thus, should the United States have dropped the Atomic Bomb on Japan and what lasting effect did this decision have post WW2? Based on what I have learned this past semester and on my previous knowledge, I believe that President Truman's choice was correct. My reasoning behind this is that he wanted to end the war quickly, he wanted to send a strong message to other countries, and he wanted to save as many American lives as possible.
