Hawaiian Beautiful Culture Before and After Arrival of European Settlers What do I mean when I mentioned the before and after? It is the love and the consistency of love to be attached to their Indigenous Culture even when a couple of ignorant people think differently. Ignorance, as we have seen in different stories we have studied in the Native America studies class, for example, the trail of tears, explains the ignorance and disrespect of new settlers on the Native American Land. Their land was exploited, destroying everything they knew as their sacred land, as the land they were put by their creator. Their lands were not and recognizable to Natives because over the sacred dead bodies of their ancestors were built big and luxurious hotel for tourists. They have created so many resorts, segregating the Native People from their own land to small pieces of land and probably in the most horrible places. Indigenous Hawaiian are poorer and exploited by the propaganda tourism companies create making it seem as the paradise for tourist with the exception of the owners of the land, Hawaiians. Hawaiian natives suffered culture genocide because in 1894 their schools and languages were banned and made English the only official language. These are examples of cultural genocide that made Hawaiian Natives so angry and so powerless. Being disposes of your own beliefs, cultures, feelings could make anyone angry. Genocide occurred before them starting suffering more and more cultural genocide. They were killed not by guns, but by sickness of Europeans.
