An inappropriate behavior for a young child in an early childhood education setting would be hitting, kicking, or otherwise harming others. These behaviors are caused due to hypersensitivity to being even slightly touched. These are externalized behaviors because they are directed towards others (Hooper and Umansky, 2014).
