There’s a million different ways, I could write this, but I think the most important thing, that I need to say right off the bat, is that, I have incredible friends. (My friends never told me we were going out this night and the only I.D, I have and use when I go out, is my passport.) So, I had to show the security guard my College card. Now after about a solid, 3 to 5 minutes, the security guard was still mulling over, if he should let me in or not. Then for about a second, he stopped looking at the card and it seemed like he was going to let me pass, but he instead then called over another security guard to check my card. And it was at that moment, it felt like i’ve had been waiting for 10 years and I’m just standing there, looking at them both, thinking In my head, come on, just let me in with my friends. Then after a few moments, the new security guard tells me, how could you not have any other I.D with you? I then explained to her the circumstances of not knowing, I was going out and said, let’s be real, I’m Muslim, i’m not even going to drink. She then said, I’ve met Muslims and I’ve seen them drink, so what makes you special? She followed that up with, I’m sorry, but I can’t let you in. Though, I have to say in retrospect, she was smiling when she said that, so I don’t think that sorry was that
