Released in 2007, the BRA BOYS documentary is a clever, compelling and entertaining look at the life of the infamous surf gang the Maroubra boys or ‘BRA’ BOYS, featuring the lives of the four Abberton brothers - Sunny, Kobi, Jai and Dakota. Readers will be totally unaware that they have been masterfully manipulated by its director, writer and producer, Sunny Abberton himself a BRA BOY, who has used every trick to contort the truth and twist emotions in an effort to depict this violent, criminal gang as a loyal band of Aussie battlers and evoke only empathy and admiration from its overly trusting viewers. Sunny has intentionally used a well known narrator for his so called authenticity, purposeful omission of relative important facts, emotional

For example, “He's not a zombie, I laughed like they were making a joke”( pg 119). His classmates treat August differently because does not look the same as other people. This means that even if August is down on himself, his friends will still cloud lift him back up off the ground. For example, after he left the classroom Jack said: “ dude thanks for doing that” (pg 142).August looks out for other people and for that reason that makes him a very good friend to other people.
In the novel Secret Life of Bees there are many characters with interesting backgrounds and unique characteristics. They each serve a purpose in the book to support the main character, push the character in a certain direction, and send a message to the readers. The character in the novel of Secret Life of Bees that Kidd makes me particularly admire is August Boatwright. August breaks the stereotype of black women in the South during this period. She lives in her own home with her two sisters and runs a successful business.
August also makes friends with a girl named summer, the only student in the whole school brave enough to sit with him at lunch. I looked up, and a girl i never saw before was standing across from my table with a lunch tray full of food. She had long wavy brown hair, and wore a brown t-shirt with a purple peace sign on
This is exemplified when he was chosen by Principal Tushman as one of the three students to show August around, which implies the teachers see him as a good student. However, on the actual tour, Julian teases him, asking "What's the deal with your face? I mean, were you in a fire or something?" (Palacio 29), after Mr. Tushman had already explained the reason for his abnormality, which implies he asked him this to make fun of him. In the previous incident where Julian asks August about the braid in his hair, asking "Why do you have that tiny braid in the back of your hair?

"Two Kinds" Comprehension Questions 1A. The mother in "Two Kids" believed her daughter (Amy Tan) was a prodigy one because they were in America and she believed her daughter had great potential and could be anything she wanted. And two because "Auntie" Lindo has a daughter who is a chess prodigy, so she believes her daughter can also be a prodogy, but better. 1B. The mother in "Two Kinds" would set up tests to see where her daughter was a prodigy in. The tests consisted of knowing the capital of every foreign city without looking it up, multiplying big numbers only in her head, standing on her head without using her hands, and one night the mother made her daughter look at a bible page for only three minutes, then she had to memorize everything she read on that page. 2.
His vulnerability to other people 's words and his honesty shows characteristics of a likeable

In The story Wonder a main character named Jack shows how to be a good friend to the main character August. First of all Jack is nice to August. Second of all Jack sticks up for his friends. And finally Jack does not care what Augie looked like. The first reason Jack was a good friend was because almost anywhere August was Jack was right there with him.
He enjoys learning, and is extremely passionate about science. 6. Name three other character’s in the book and describe the main character’s relationship with each one. Summer- August and Summer met on Auggie’s first day of school, as Summer sat with him at lunch due to her feelings of empathy towards him. She later realized that August is a “ nice” and “cool” kid, bringing her to sit with him because she wanted to, not because she felt sorry for him.
Also another way that we can see that August is kind is when we take a look at the precept he sent to his teacher “Everyone deserves a standing ovation since we all overcometh the word”. This shows that he is kind because he cares about everyone and how this quote kind of implies that everyone should succeed in what they want to do. Lastly I would say is that Auggie is a very brave person. By brave I do not mean in the way of a knight or someone, but in his own way he is very brave. The reason why I think August Pullman is nice is because even though he knew about the circumstances that going to school would put him in he still went because his parents had wanted him to go.
According to an article, she used to have imaginary friends. And when the others told her to grow up, she turned her imaginary friends into characters, telling their stories. II. Characters a) Micah August Carter- He is a shy, coward, and music-lover best friend of Janie Vivian.
Eliot symbolizes the isolation of Prufrock in the beginning to show the character that he is in search of love. In his poem he uses a personification to symbolize the love of J. Alfred Prufrock: The yellow fog that rubs its back upon the window-panes, The yellow smoke that rubs its muzzle on the window-panes, Licked its tongue into the corners of the evening, Lingered upon the pools that stand in drains, Let fall upon its back the soot that falls from chimneys, Slipped by the terrace, made a sudden leap, And seeing that it was a soft October night, Curled once about the house and fell asleep. (Eliot 297) The personification is a description of a yellow cat.
When he first goes to the school, he is introduced to the school's director, Mr. Tushman including some students named Jack, Julian, and Charlotte. After a while, he also builds a friendship with a girl named Summer as she sits at the lunch table with him frequently.
