Hera's Role In The Odyssey

From the gods and goddesses above, both Athena and Zeus had been Odysseus's protector. Without them, who would his guardian be? Being the gracious protector of heroes that she is, Hera would be the ideal individual that would help keep Odysseus alive. With her previous experience with many heroes, her relations to other gods and goddesses, and her absolute power, Hera would be the perfect being for keeping Odysseus safe. Hera has had many other journeys with several other heroes. For example, she had helped Jason with the Golden Fleece. She was the one many looked up to for help. Being on the Greek side, she would have really favored Odysseus knowing that he was helping the Greeks in countless wars. With the numerous miracles she had given, she helped multiple individuals with their heroic deeds. Odysseus could be helped by her for his heroic deeds. Because he is the husband of Penelope and he wants to stay loyal to her and only her, Hera could help him do this. While Odysseus is lost, Hera can step in and do what is right to keep the suitors away from Penelope, so she can remain faithful to Odysseus for when he returns.
