Hercules He is one of the greatest gods in history. Everyone envies him while they scream his name. “Hercules!! Hercules!! Hercules!!” He is the humblest, caring and nice God there is, or so you think. There is more to him than what meets the eye. There are many sources where you can get your observation of Hercules from including Edith Hamilton 's book Mythology, the History Channel 's 2009 "Hercules" from the series Clash of the Gods, the 2014 movie Hercules directed by Brett Ratner and starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and the 1997 animated movie Hercules. In this version there are a lot of the same aspects that are in the Edith Hamilton version. In the History Channel 's 2009 "Hercules" Zeus had still tricked Hercules mother into thinking that he was her husband and impregnated her with Hercules. Since Zeus had a such great lust for another woman Hera took it out on Hercules for his whole life. As a toddler Hera sent two venomous snakes into his cradle to kill him, but instead he killed both of the snakes. That is when Hera knew that it was going to be hard to break him. Hercules grew up and married a princess and instead of having 3 sons like in the original story he only had 2. Hera didn’t want him to be happy in life. They said that to be a hero in Greece that they would have to suffer. That is when she made him murder his whole family with his bare hands. Since Hercules was in such great grief he decided to go to the temple of Delphi and he would be able to talk to the gods from there. In this version they said in the History Channel 's 2009 "Hercules" they believe that they know where the temple of Delphi and it has toxic gas where it would make the person high and act just like the documented activities. The most different version would definitely have to be the 1997 animated movie Hercules. Instead of Zeus tricking Hercules mother his worst enemy Hera is actually his mother and she does not hate him. Hades is actually hates Hercules and wants to get rid of him because he believes that he will ruin his big plan. Hades big plan is to overpower Zeus and to become the god of Olympus instead of the underworld. At first no one liked Hercules, they thought that he was a mess and only runt everything. They practically shunned him from the city. Once he trained and became really strong he kept saving the city from monster Hades sent to destroy him. Hades was running out of options so he uses Meg as a lure and trapped him into giving him all of his power. In the deal that Hades made to Hercules he promises that Meg would not get hurt. During Hercules attempt to save the city as a mortal Meg got crushed by a pole and Hades curse was broke. Hercules went up to Olympus and defeated Hades. As an award Zeus granted Hercules as a god. Hercules was flattered at the offer of him becoming a god but he wanted to stay a mortal to be with his true
